hello saturday.

The day is what YOU make of it.

evening sun.

Right now.
Positioned in a quiet corner of Malmo Stadsbibliotek. (The library)
Writing, listening to some new music in my earphones and watching the sun slowly go down outside the window. I know they wanna close soon, the librarians are giving me 'the' look.
But i'm far from done with this thing i'm writing. And i'm in the flow. Nothing worse than being interrupted when you're in the flow.

what a difference a day makes.

The snow melted and the spring decided to arrive.

Crazy For Raw.

Last night's dinner. Might have been the best sushi I've ever tasted.
Yes, I really do think so.

FIKA.

One of my favourite things about being back home in Sweden.
Hours of tea drinking.

Rosie's Coffee and Wine.

I discovered a real gem when I was back in Malmo.
Rosie's Coffee and Wine.
A small, independent cafe full of character. And amazing homemade cakes.
So to all Malmo locals, visitors and cafe lovers, you got to check this place out.

the sea.

Took a walk down to Kallbadhuset. That´s the place where the crazy Swedes go skinny dipping in the freezing sea. I was planning to go for a swim ....but yeah..well I just couldn´t do it.

bright morning.

Had breakfast this morning in Djakne KaffeBar and totally fell in love with the place.
Great ambiance for creating new projects.
And also, another wall to be added to my collection, picture no 2 from the top.
What a beauty.

The Library.

My sister's internet at her place is crap so I decided to go to the city library to use their free WiFi.. And i´m really glad I did becasue it´s truly awesome. And massive. I mean just the section where you can borrow records is bigger than a lot of record stores I know. Think this might be my new favourite hang out.

yep it´s cold.

It´s freaking cold here. Below zero temperatures and cold winds from north is making it impossible to even look slightly stylish. To be honest, after three days of icy weather, i don´t care what I look like anymore.
As long as what i´m wearing is keeping me warm, i´m happy.

Malmö Town.

Yesterday.
Lilla kafferosteriet is still one of my favourite cafe's in Malmö. You can spend hours in there drinking serious amounts of great coffee (they roast their own coffee beans) and munch on amazing cakes. The place is so old and it's got so much character you just have to love it. I do miss the Swedish cafe culture. It's definitely different and unique.
I guess it doesn't really come as a surprise that statistics show that Scandinavians are the biggest coffee consumers in the world.
Also yesterday, a trip to the Moderna Museet was a must. Contemporary art at it's best.

silence.

I know I've discussed this topic in a previous post last year, but it still really amazes me how quiet everything is when I go back to Sweden. The silence, the empty spaces and the feeling of being completely on your own in a normally crowded public space. And i'm not even travelling stupid hours. It's amazing.

retail honesty.

Went to check out the latest in a vintage store around the corner today.
There was a handwritten note on the door saying;
"Hi, i´m tired today, if I'm not back tomorrow, it's probably gonna be sometime next week"
Very un-Swedish but loving the attitude.

sweden´s finest.

I´m back home and enjoying every minute of it. Hours spent in cafe´s catching up and consuming a fair share of Swedish classics; Cinnamon buns and Creamy Lenten buns.
It´s good to be back.

days like these

Good old friends. It´s like I´ve never even left Sweden. Happy days.

a perfect shade of autumn.

Walked through Slottsparken in Malmö yesterday. The colours were perfect and Sweden felt great.

A Swedish Supermercado.

One of the first things I do when I go to Sweden is to go to the supermarket, just because they're simply better and more inspiring than the British ones that i've been to. A wider selection of things but also a better and a more creative one. You fancy a yogurt... you get a selection of forty five. And if you're lactos intolerant like me, you will find all the lactos free products you need and more. Think that's what we all need....Inspiring food stores! Because to be honest, we do spend quite a lot of our time in them.

festive times.

Malmöfestivalen/ Street festival 2012.
Hot and spicy Chorizos, Thai Street food, Jazz tents and an amazing performance by
Little Dragon. Now these things makes me a happy girl.
